The Composition of the Sixty Four Hexagrams: Eight Palaces and Hexagram Changes
How Eight Trigrams Become Sixty Four Hexagrams

The principle of hexagram transformation
The hexagram transformation is the core of the divination in the Book of Changes. When a certain line changes (from yang to yin or from yin to yang), the original hexagram (this hexagram) becomes a new hexagram (Zhi hexagram), reflecting the trend of development and change of things.
Wrong hexagrams and comprehensive hexagrams
-* * Wrong hexagram * * (Side connected hexagram): Two hexagrams with completely opposite yin and yang, such as Qian and Kun, Tun and Ding
-* * Comprehensive hexagram * * (Fu hexagram): Invert the hexagrams up and down, such as "Tun" and "Meng", and "Xu" and "Zheng"
Understanding these relationships helps to gain a deeper understanding of the intrinsic connections between hexagrams.
